CrystalClear WipeOut is excellent for controlling gill diseases in pond fish. Bacterial diseases generally result from fish stress due to adverse water quality conditions (pH, oxygen or temperature problems), habitat clean-outs, untreated abrasions or predators.
Routine Application RateDissolve 1tsp of WipeOut in dechlorinated water for every 100 gallons of water to be treated and add to the pond for a 24-hour period. It is advisable to remove filter media prior to the 24-hour treatment period.
Persistent Application RateWipeOut can be reapplied within 36 hours of initial application. Should you want to avoid removing filter media a dip application can be performed in a separate holding tank or "hospital tank". Do not reuse the container for any other use.
When to ApplyCrystalClear WipeOut is formulated to control bacterial infections for most fish species. Signs that your fish may be experiencing fin-rot include noticeable decay of the dorsal and tail fins, disinterest in eating, and weakness. Signs of ulcers include abrasions and reddish or purple lesions on the sides of the fish. Factors that may cause bacterial infections are high levels of stress due to poor water conditions, overcrowding, or untreated wounds.
For Best ResultsOnly use the amount stated above. Overdosing will not increase the effectiveness. Do not use other chemicals while treating with this product.
